A ritual nearly all couples will be familiar with is a trip to the cinema. Catching a new release has become a staple of date night through the ages (or at least the recent past). For men spending an evening watching a blockbuster release with the girlfriend constitutes a romantic evening. The best part of which, is that they do not have to put up with constant yapping.
For women the date night spent at the cinema is a pretty bog standard affair but in most cases they are just happy that the boyfriend/husband has put the thought into arranging a night out. Though they would love a bit of variety on date night most girlfriends/wives are resigned to expecting nothing better than a night at the movies.
However, where the girls put their foot down is in regards to the type of film that they're going to watch. Instead of his choice of the latest action movie starring Bruce Willis in Deathblow 14, the chosen film is more than likely to be a funny date movie.
It is amazing how many different variations of rom-coms Hollywood can produce. Usually featuring Matthew McConaughey or Hugh Grant ably supported by Sandra Bullock the funny date movie has fun going through every cliché in the book.
The man suffers through it all in the vain hope that he will get to see some flesh, though most definitely not of Matthew McConaughey as he's feeling bad enough without being put to shame by those sculpted abs and… oh that's right some boob action.
And the best part of date night is that they get to do it all over again in almost the exact same fashion.
