Many people decide to buy a package when choosing their new mobile phone, that is they sign up for a handset and a sim and pay a set amount each month. This means that they do not have to buy a phone separately and many people consider that it works out cheaper than having to buy a phone, even with so many cheap sim only deals on the market.
But does it really work out cheaper this way? Some of the sim only deals actually work out very cheap per month, with talk-time minutes and texts included just as with the full package deals, so it is worth checking out some of the sim only offers currently available on the market.
With phone included deals you of course have to pay for the phone in the monthly charge and while it can be a great way to pay for your phone over instalments, these types of deals can be expensive.
If you already have a phone, and do not always want to have the latest model, then it can be much more cost-effective to use your current phone with a sim deal, as you do not have to pay for the phone in your monthly payments.
You really need to do the sums to see which type of package is best for you, your lifestyle - and your wallet.
